Dr Jennifer-Njenga-CHG
Dr Njenga currently sits on the Refugee Health Program Partners in Alberta Health Services and the Refugee Health Coalition Alberta. 

Dr Jennifer Njenga, CEO & Founder,

 

Dr Jennifer Njenga is the CEO and Founder of Canada Homecare Group. She has lived and worked for more than 18 years in several countries including South Africa, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

 

Dr Njenga has a special interest in Primary Care, Public Health, Indigenous Health and Maternal and Child Health. She has worked with vulnerable populations including Seniors, Refugees, and Indigenous communities.

 

Dr Njenga was part of the development and implementation of Key initiatives such as the Greater Auckland Integrated Health Network, localization of the Canterbury Pathways in Primary Care and the 20, 000 Days Campaign in New Zealand,  aimed at reducing hospital demand by formation of Collaborative Teams that provided healthcare in the community and streamlined referral processes. 

She also has been involved in various Advisory Groups including Regional Child Youth and Maternity Strategic Forum and the National Sudden Unexpected Death of an Infant (SUDI) in New Zealand. She currently sits on the Refugee Health Program Partners in Alberta Health Services and the Refugee Health Coalition Alberta. 

Dr Njenga has held various Management positions including Physician Liaison in Primary Care in New Zealand, Clinical Lead in the Provincial Access Team in Alberta Health Services, and Manager of Integrated Care in the Edmonton West Primary Care Network. 

This work has awarded her the understanding of the challenges related to accessing healthcare. On a personal note, Dr Njenga continues to be involved in the planning and organizing of care for her own family, including elderly and less able members.  Her experience with working in various healthcare systems as well as her personal experience inspired her to bring together a group of health care providers to form Canada Homecare Group. 

She is excited about working with her team and collaborating with other providers to serve communities and reduce unnecessary visits and admissions in the hospital.  

When she is not working, Dr Njenga spends quality time with her family and enjoys dancing, listening to music and watching movies.

Dr Njenga is a Family Physician with nearly 20 years of work experience in Medicine. He has a special interest in General Practice, Mental Health, Refugee Health and Men’s Health, including Preventative Medicine.

Dr Njenga is an Edmonton based Family Physician with nearly 20 years of work experience in Medicine. He has a special interest in General Practice, Mental Health, Refugee Health and Men’s Health, including Preventative Medicine.

 

Dr Njenga has lived and worked in several countries including South Africa, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. His experience in various settings has awarded him the ability to appreciate the challenges involved with accessing healthcare.

 

Dr Njenga is passionate about working in Primary Care, within a Medical Home to provide patient centred care. He works within a multidisciplinary team to address various needs of patients. He strives to provide quality care in a timely manner that is geared towards the individual patient.

 

He looks forward to working with Canada Homecare Group and providing care within the patient’s own setting. 

 

When he is not working, Dr Njenga enjoys spending time with his family, travelling and playing sports.

Angela-Gachanja-CHG
With over 15 years of nursing experience, both in the USA and Canada, Angela has worked in various acute care settings such as Cardiac and Telemetry, Emergency Department and Critical Care

Angela Gachanja, Director of Clinical Services

 

She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from Winston Salem State University in Winston Salem, North Carolina, USA.

With over 15 years of nursing experience, both in the USA and Canada, Angela has worked in various acute care settings such as Cardiac and Telemetry, Emergency Department and Critical care before transitioning to the community as a Short Term Intervention Therapy (STIT) Homecare Nurse.

 

In the course of her career, Angela has fulfilled the role of Charge Nurse for a 36 bed unit.  She has mentored new staff and student interns as a preceptor; coordinated and organized care for patients including those with complex health and social needs. Angela brings to Canada Homecare Group her superior knowledge base, extensive skills set and her passion for providing excellent care to clients and their families.

In her leisure time, Angela enjoys taking long walks while listening to audio books, travelling, and volunteering at her sons’ school.

Dr Kariko has been working as a Family Physician at the Castledowns medicentre since 2014.

Angolan-born and raised in Namibia and South Africa, Dr Gift Kariko moved to Alberta in 2014. She completed her medical training at the University of the Free State in South Africa. Dr Kariko has been working as a Family Physician at the Castledowns medicentre since 2014.

 

Her goal is to always greet her patients with a caring and professional attitude and give them her undivided attention during their appointment. Dr Kariko enjoys online shopping on her days off. She spends most of her leisure time with her family.

Dr Florence Akindele has 30 years of experience as a doctor and 20 years as an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist.

Dr Florence Akindele has 30 years of experience as a medical doctor and 20 years as an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist. She also holds a Masters degree in Public Health and has worked in various aspects of women's health in Nigeria, Swaziland, South Africa, and now Alberta, Canada. She brings her expertise to Canada Homecare Group  as the lead in prenatal and postnatal care of mothers. She is a loving mother of four and grandmother of five.

She has mentored new staff and students. She also plays a key role in advocating for her community.

Ebian Ali, Clinical Manager

 

Ebian graduated from the University of Ottawa, with a bachelors of science degree in nursing. With over 8 years of nursing experience, Ebian has worked in neurosurgery and acute medicine. In the course of her career, Ebian has great adaptability skills, provides organized and coordinated care to patients and families. She has mentored new staff and students. She also plays a key role in advocating for her community.

Kulpreet Sandhu, Nurse Practitioner

Kulpreet began her nursing career as a registered nurse 14 years ago, working in long term care where she worked with seniors with complex health conditions, requiring a multidisciplinary approach.

 

Kulpreet has vast experience including teaching and mentoring nursing students and equipping them with the necessary skills to work in various settings. She has worked as a charge nurse and assistant head nurse where she mentored and provided guidance to other nursing staff. 

Kulpreet pursued further studies and completed a Masters in nursing from the University of Alberta in 2018. During her  Masters, her research project focused on geriatrics . Her  passion is providing quality care and helping seniors age well in their environment.

Kulpreet’s broad expertise, skills and education in senior’s care will be an asset to Canada Homecare Group.

Jacqueline Masese, Licensed Practical Nurse

 

Colleen Cartier has been a Nurse Practitioner since 2016.  Her experience, both as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner, has included working in emergency and urgent care teams, women’s health, and primary health care. She has preceptored Nurse Practitioner students in primary health care. 

 

Colleen is looking forward to working with Canada Home Care Group and addressing client concerns in their home environment. Colleen is looking forward to collaborating with other health care providers to determine the best patient centered care. 

Colleen enjoys spending time with family, and especially participating and watching her kids’ activities.

Krista is our Clinic Support Specialist here at CHG.  Before joining CHG, she worked as a manager in a busy family practice with multiple physicians and other healthcare providers.  Her goal is always to provide our patients with the feeling they are being taken care of and supported.

Dr. Alexander Lukubisa, Family Physician

Ugandan born and raised in South Africa, Dr. Lukubisa completed his medical training at the University of the Free State in South Africa. He and his wife Fiona, moved to Saskatchewan in 2010 and had three beautiful children. Dr. Lukubisa has run his private medical clinic since 2014 before joining Canada Homecare Group. He thrives in knowing  individuals have access to medical care by providing options such as home visits. He also believes everyone has a story and enjoys hearing about these stories from the people he meets. So go ahead, tell him your story.

Nonye Nwachukwu, Nurse Practitioner

 

Nonye is a nurse practitioner who has special interest in oncology and primary care. She has been a nurse for over eight years and has worked in various acute in patients settings such as urology, general surgery, orthopaedics, and general medicine. During this time, she has had the opportunity to take on leadership roles and mentor staff and students within her work setting.

Nonye is very passionate about preventative medicine which involves promoting health and wellbeing to prevent disease and/or limit the damaging effects of chronic diseases. Which is why she chose to advance her education and obtain her Nurse Practitioner Family/All Ages license.

For leisure, Nonye loves travelling and spending quality time with family and friends.

Getty joined CHG with experience in Home Care, Medical-Surgical, Wound Care and Long-term Care.

Getty Ndlovu, Licensed Practical Nurse

Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Getty is a graduate of a Practical Nurse program from Bow Valley College, in Calgary, Alberta. Getty joined CHG with experience in Home Care, Medical-Surgical, Wound Care and Long-term Care. She holds Certifications for Immunization, Restricted Activities and Administration of Medications.

 

Before entering her nursing profession, Getty pursued studies in English Literature in which she graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Concordia University, in Montreal, QC, Canada. Getty has lived in Canada for over twenty years. Her strong sense of belonging to the Canadian Society and love to serve her community is what drove to pursue studies in nursing.

 

She is looking forward to providing quality care to diverse clients, focusing on Client-Centered-Care, tailored to their individual needs.
