Meet Shemeles Demessie, one of the talented staff members of Canada Homecare Group. Shemeles is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who has been with CHG for some time, contributing his nursing expertise to assist Albertans and newcomers in the community.

Originally from East Africa Ethiopia, Shemeles moved to Canada and pursued his education here. He graduated from the LPN diploma program at Assiniboine Community College in Brandon, Manitoba in 2008, and later took an RN bridge course at Brandon University. He also has a Canadian adult high school diploma.

Shemeles began his nursing career in Brandon, working as an LPN in three long-term care facilities and one hospital. In 2015, he moved to Edmonton and has worked at Venta Care Centre ever since.

When Shemeles is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family. He is married and has two boys, ages 11 and 10. He also speaks Amharic, a language spoken in Ethiopia and other parts of East Africa.
